Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter. A great place to connect with old friends and far family members. People posting their thoughts and ideas, political view points, sharing news of a marriage or a new addition to the family. But no one really posts their hardships. We’re quick to spread good news. What about the bad times? Everyone goes through them. You always hear, never let them see you cry. And yeah I agree. Why? Because no one really cares. When people are going through hard times they keep it to themselves for fear of judgment and when people think you’re down and out you’re only looking for a hand out. Let’s take me for example, you go through my instagram and you’ll see a happy, family oriented girl. While I am family oriented, I am not happy. Yeah sure, I’m happy for my family and I’m happy to be alive. But, there are so many other aspects to life that play a part into being happy. Growing up, I’ve always looked on the brighter side of things and always had the motto that everything happens for a reason. But there are days where I think "why is this happening to me?" Or "What did I do to deserve this?" Everything I had, I had to work hard to get it and keep it. One bad thing happens and it sends your life into a downward spiral. I’ve had very few fleeting moments of "what if" but I don’t dwell on them. Those "what if" moments are you creating a fantasy of a life you wish you had, the path you wish you had taken. While going through those thoughts, reality smacks you in the face, you (I) spend a few minutes of self loathing and then I pull myself together and say "I can do this and I can do it by myself". Truth is, you can’t do everything by yourself. You will always need some form of help. You just have to ask. The right person will be there for you.
